On behalf of the Scientific Committee we invite you to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentations.

The deadline for abstract submission is August 12 2013.

Please, read all instructions before submitting your abstracts.

 

CONTENT

We invite you to submit an abstract on one (or more) of the following topics:

    I.   MUSTELID RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

    II.  MUSTELID DISTRIBUTION AND STATUS

    III. MUSTELID ECOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR

    IV.  MUSTELID GENETICS AND EVOLUTION

    V.   MUSTELID MORPHOLOGY AND PHYSIOLOGY

    VI.  MUSTELID CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT

 

The abstract should include:

- full title (limited to 150 characters including spaces, without any abbreviations, Calibri, 12 pts),

- name, affiliation, address, email of the corresponding author,

- name, affiliation, address of all co-authors,

- minimum 3 and maximum 5 keywords,

- abstract text should give a comprehensive summary of the oral/poster presentation and not exceed 300 words,

- bstracts should be written in English (Calibri, 12 pts),

- bstracts should not include subheadings or equations,

- bstracts may include maximum one figure or table (use greyscale or black and white, proceedings will be printed in greyscale),

- refer to references in the abstract text as follows: (Kowalski et al. 2012); maximum 3 references in the references list.

 

TEMPLATE FOR SUBMISSION

Please use the blank abstract template which is available for DOWNLOAD HERE.

Only Word-files (.doc or .docx) will be accepted.

Please make sure that your abstract does not have scientific, spelling or grammatical errors.

Please remember to include all co-authors. Additional names will not be accepted after the submission deadline.

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Step 1: Look through the list of abstract topics to determine which topic your abstract most relates to. Indicate topic number in the file name.

Step 2: Make sure that you use the Word template to save your abstract.

Step 3: Save your abstract as follows: “ABSTRACT_YourName_TopicNumber.doc”, e.g. “ABSTRACT_Kowalski_TopicII”

Step 4: Submit your send your as attached file to Jakub Skorupski (j.skorupski@lutreola.pl) and write into the subject: Abstract and your name, e.g. Abstract_Jan_Kowalski; The abstract must be submitted by August 12 2013.

Please, indicate in the same email your preference for a poster or oral presentation.

You will receive an email notification when you make a successful abstract submission. If you do not receive this email within 7 days of submission, please contact us (ptgk@lutreola.pl or j.skorupski@lutreola.pl) to check what has gone wrong.

More than one abstract may be submitted by each person but only one presenting author per abstract is permitted. One presenter may have more than one poster presentation but it is not possible to make more than one oral presentation in the programme. The person who submits the abstract is the contact person for all communication regarding the abstract and its eventual presentation.

The authors retain full copyright of their abstract, presentation and full paper, but by submitting an abstract, authors also give the organisers consent and authorisation to utilise their abstract, presentation or full paper in the Abstract volume of the Colloquium.

 

EVALUATION

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and send back for corrections to the author if necessary. The organisers may reject any abstract that does not comply with the abstract format instructions.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract volume of the Colloquium. After 12th of August 2013, the abstracts will not be published in the Abstract Volume because of the typography process.

Please avoid double submissions. If you need to modify your submission or replace an abstract, please contact us by email (ptgk@lutreola.pl or j.skorupski@lutreola.pl) and we will attend to your requests.

Authors will be notified about results of abstract submission by the 6th of September 2013.

 

ORAL PRESENTATION

The planned time for the oral presentations is 20 minutes, including 3 to 5 minutes for discussion at the end of the talk, depending on the number of the oral presentations.

Please edit your presentations (oral and poster) in Microsoft Office PowerPoint (.ppt) format. An overhead projector and computer will be provided. If you need any additional tools, please sign it on the registration formula.

Load your presentation before your session starts. The conference room will be open 30 minutes before and after each colloquium day, as well as during coffe and lunch breaks.

If you cannot use PowerPoint please inform the Local Organisation to provide for audiovisual support needs.

Please make sure your audiovisuals are easily read, we recommend at least 16pts as font size. If you use an unusual font/character, make sure you bring your font to prevent formatting errors.

 

POSTER PRESENTATION

A board of 115-120 cm (width) x 85-90 cm (height) will be accepted for a poster.

The A4 format copies added to each poster would be very welcome.

Poster competition for the most engaging, inspiring and well-organised poster displaying solid science will be conducted. Prizes will be given for the best three posters.
